Random Photos

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 24, 2008, 12:02 AM
During our one week of summer vacation, Ellen and I (Lena) have taken full advantage of being back at home! In other words: lots of really stupid, random, but sometimes cool (to us) photos of places we visited and of us...

On another note, Ellen's desktop computer caught a very strange virus and our parents had to take it back home to get it fixed. That means that we are one short a computer with photoshop (!!!) so all the photos I post up will be without any alterations (booooo!) since Ellen is constantly on her laptop (currently the only other computer in this apartment with photoshop) I'm stuck with what I have. you'd think that with four computers in here, all of them would have it! >_<

And even on a sadder note: Ellen and I start classes again on Wednesday... *tear* Time to open up those notebooks to start doodling again!

We're Back!

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 23, 2008, 1:31 AM
Spring Semester ended as quickly as it began. And as soon as finals were over, we both packed and flew all the way to Japan and then to Korea for a month of walking, eating, touring and generally having fun. Yes, it was fun! But now we're back in the US, getting ready for Summer session. >_< that part sucks, but that's when most of our most creative inspirations come about (while napping in lecture).

While we were sitting under the AC in Seoul, trying not to melt, we came up with an idea for a good original story. While I (Lena) write the story, Ellen will be drawing the characters and stuff... in the end, we just might end up drawing a manga. Yes, it sounds impossible, but we can dream can't we? ^_^ The one deviant titled "Wanna Bet" is one of our characters and the new deviant titled "No More Bets" is our female protagonist. We already have many more characters planned (many already sketched and ready to be colored)and the storyline is progressing, albiet slowly somewhat due to my preoccupation with my other story. So please look forward to our colorful cast! ^_^

Spring Break

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 17, 2008, 1:59 PM
Spring break is almost here!~ I'm so excited that I feel like spring break already started which isn't that great of an idea especially with my midterm coming up on wednesday. T.T So I have an inspiration to draw this image while I was in lab last week but unfortunately my work load suddenly increased. Doens't it seem like when you have the greatest idea in the world you just don't have the time to do it. My plan: keep it in my head until spring break starts. Unfortunately, I also have to study during spring break. What kind of break is that?! Anywayz just looking forward to going home for a week. ^^ Happy drawings.

On Not Doing Work...

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 23, 2008, 2:03 PM
Is anyone else feeling the sudden workload from school? I sure do. But that's besides the point.

Just yesterday, I realized that half my notebook for class notes, was actually dedicated to my brainstorming, writing, and doodles. Apparently, I pass the time in my classes by not paying attention. But I look through my notes and it has all the information that I needed for my midterms. I came up with the conclusion that since I've started college I've learned a wonderful new skill: being able to take notes without menally thinking of it (whether it be due to sleeping or doodling). Amazing, really.

So Thursday, my schedule is 8am to 5pm straight and at the end of the day I had this nasty cramping in my wrist that wouldn't go away. Even typing feels strange... *shrug* poor hand.

Anyways, good luck to those who have midterms (or if you're done with them, congratulations)... I will be 'trying' to study too.

There is Always Time for Creativity!

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 22, 2007, 7:02 PM
Hi! Despite this profile stating that "Emily" is 19, blah blah blah... we are actually a team of sisters: Ellen & Lena!

We are both UC Berkeley undergraduate students, studying our arses off to graduate and get into med. school and pharm. school respectively... poor us!

But nevertheless, we both try to make as much time to write and draw... even if it means doodling in our math homework or jotting down plot points in the middle of lecture notes.

Sadly, we don't think either of us has updated any of our work since August or September. Hopefully, winter break comes soon and the creative jucies in our brains won't go stale or ferment into something strange... gross.

*sigh* time to return to studying for... Ellen: psychology, Lena: biochemistry... doesn't sound at all fun, right?
